How can we help you?
Guides and how-tos for all 33 SoundLine features, organized by category.
Welcome to SoundLine! Getting your account set up takes less than 10 minutes. Follow these steps to go live.
Check your inbox for a verification link. Click it to activate your account — it expires in 24 hours.
Add your company name, address, and time zone. This is used for caller ID and E911 compliance.
Every account includes one free local or toll-free number. Add more anytime from Numbers → Add Number.
Get the SoundLine desktop app (Windows/Mac) and the SLC mobile app (iOS/Android) to start making calls.
Keep your existing business numbers when switching to SoundLine. Porting in is free and typically takes 5–10 business days.
Contact your current carrier to request your account number, PIN, and billing address on file.
Go to Numbers → Port a Number in your SoundLine dashboard. Fill out the form and upload your LOA.
Keep your existing service active until SoundLine confirms the port is complete — usually via email.
Make and receive unlimited calls from the desktop app, mobile app, browser softphone, or a physical desk phone — all with the same SoundLine number.
Click the phone icon in the top bar or press Ctrl+D (Win) / Cmd+D (Mac).
Type a number to dial, or search a contact name. SoundLine auto-completes from your contacts and CRM.
A notification appears on screen. Answer on your current device, or push the call to another device (e.g. mobile) with one click.
Forward calls to any number — a mobile phone, external line, or another extension — based on time, status, or number of rings.
Select the number or user extension you want to set up forwarding for.
Options: Always Forward, Forward When Busy, Forward When Unanswered (after N rings), or schedule-based forwarding.
Enter any US/international number or select an internal extension. Click Save and test immediately.
A professional auto-attendant answers your calls 24/7 and routes callers to the right department automatically.
Go to Call Flows → Auto-Attendant → New Menu. The drag-and-drop canvas opens.
Record or upload an audio file: "Thank you for calling Acme Corp. Press 1 for Sales, 2 for Support…"
Drag "Key Press" blocks onto the canvas. Connect each to a destination: queue, extension, voicemail, or sub-menu.
Go to Numbers → select number → Call Handling → Auto-Attendant → select your new menu.
For complex routing, build nested IVR menus with conditional branches based on caller input, time of day, or CRM data.
Go to Settings → Business Hours. Set open/close times per day and add holiday closures with after-hours messages.
Drag a Sub-Menu block onto the canvas and connect it to a key press, then build a separate menu inside it.
Use "If/Else" and "Time Condition" blocks to route known customers (by caller ID) or switch between day/after-hours flows.
Display your verified business name on outbound calls so customers recognize and answer you — and make sure every line is E911-ready.
Go to Settings → Caller ID → Branded Caller ID and submit your business details for verification.
Under Settings → Emergency Calling, set the physical address for each device so 911 dispatchers get the right location.
SoundLine is compatible with all major SIP desk phones including Polycom, Yealink, Grandstream, and Cisco.
Connect your desk phone to your network via ethernet. Ensure it has internet access (not just local LAN).
In SoundLine → Devices → Add Device, select your phone model to generate SIP username, password, and server address.
Access your phone's web UI (usually at its local IP address) and enter the SIP credentials under Account → SIP settings.
SIP Server: sip.getsoundline.com:5060
Every call can be transcribed and summarized automatically, with key points and action items delivered seconds after you hang up.
Go to Settings → AI → Transcription and turn it on for your account or specific numbers. Choose your default language (30+ supported).
In Calls → History, click any call to view the full transcript and AI summary side by side. Search the archive by keyword.
Push the summary and action items to your CRM, a teammate, or email with one click.
Sentiment analysis scores the tone of every conversation so managers can spot unhappy customers and coaching opportunities fast.
Go to Settings → AI → Sentiment Analysis. Scores appear automatically on transcribed calls.
Each call shows a positive/neutral/negative trend across its duration, so you can see exactly where a conversation turned.
Create alerts that notify a manager when a call ends with strongly negative sentiment.
Let AI answer, qualify, and resolve routine calls around the clock — escalating to a human only when needed.
Go to AI → Voice Agents → New Agent. Give it a name, voice persona, and greeting.
Upload FAQs and describe the tasks it should handle — booking appointments, answering questions, or capturing details.
Choose when the agent transfers to a human (e.g. caller asks, low confidence) and which team or queue it routes to with full context.
Live call translation translates both sides of a conversation in real time, so you and your caller can speak different languages and still understand each other.
Go to Settings → AI → Live Translation and select your preferred language.
During any call, click the translate icon and choose the caller's language. Both sides hear translated audio in near real time.
Add your team in minutes. Each user gets their own extension, voicemail, and app credentials.
Enter email addresses (comma-separated for bulk invites). Choose a role: Admin, Manager, or Agent.
Each user can have a direct inward dial (DID) number, an internal extension (e.g. 101), or both.
They'll receive an email with a link to set their password and download the app. Setup takes under 2 minutes.
The SLC mobile app puts your full business phone system in your pocket — calls, texts, voicemail, and team chat under your business number.
Download SLC from the App Store or Google Play and sign in with your SoundLine credentials.
Allow notifications so you never miss a call, text, or voicemail — even when the app is closed.
All calls and texts use your business number, keeping your personal number private.
Keep internal chat, customer threads, and a shared address book all in one workspace.
Open Messaging → New Conversation to chat with a teammate or group, share files, and reference call history.
In Contacts, mark a contact as Shared so the whole team sees the same details, notes, and history.
Internal notes on a customer thread stay private to your team while keeping everyone in sync.
Set up a professional greeting and read your voicemails as text instead of dialing in.
Go to Settings → Voicemail. Record in the browser, upload an MP3, or use AI text-to-speech.
Turn on VM transcription to receive every voicemail as text by email and in the app within seconds.
For phone-based access, set a 4–10 digit PIN in Settings → Voicemail → Security.
Record calls automatically or on demand, with encrypted, HIPAA-compliant storage and instant playback.
Go to Settings → Call Recording. Select Automatic (record all calls) or On-Demand (agents start recording mid-call).
Choose how long recordings are kept and which roles can listen, download, or delete them.
Reply to texts instantly — even outside business hours — with automatic, customizable responses.
Go to Messaging → Auto-Responders → New Rule. Pick a trigger: after-hours, missed call, or a keyword.
Compose the message (e.g. "Thanks for texting! We're closed now and will reply at 8am.") and add merge fields if needed.
Turn the rule on and assign it to the numbers it should apply to.
Turn conversations into action without leaving SoundLine — create tasks, assign owners, and track follow-ups.
On any call or message, click "Create Task" to attach a follow-up with a title, owner, and due date.
Open Tasks to see everything assigned to you or your team, with status and reminders.
The SoundLine + Salesforce integration auto-logs every call, enables click-to-dial, and surfaces contact details on incoming calls.
Search "SoundLine" on Salesforce AppExchange. Click Get It Now and install for all users or selected profiles.
In SoundLine → Integrations → Salesforce, click Connect and log in with your Salesforce admin credentials.
Choose which Salesforce objects receive call logs (Leads, Contacts, Accounts). Map duration, outcome, and recording URL fields.
Sync SoundLine with HubSpot to log calls automatically, trigger workflows on call outcomes, and see contact details before you answer.
Search "SoundLine" in the HubSpot App Marketplace. Click Install App and authorize access.
In HubSpot → Settings → Calling → Call Providers, select SoundLine as your default provider.
In SoundLine → Integrations → HubSpot, enable "Log all calls to timeline" and set the default call disposition mapping.
Send and receive WhatsApp messages from the same shared inbox as your calls and SMS, so customer conversations stay in one place.
Go to Integrations → WhatsApp → Connect and follow the prompts to link your WhatsApp Business account.
Route incoming WhatsApp threads to the right team so anyone can pick up and reply.
Create approved templates for common replies to start conversations within WhatsApp's policy windows.
Use the SoundLine REST API to build custom integrations, automate workflows, and receive real-time call events via webhooks.
Go to Settings → Developers → API Keys → New Key. Set a name and expiry. Copy the key immediately — it won't be shown again.
Include your API key in the Authorization header of every request.
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY
In Settings → Developers → Webhooks, add your HTTPS endpoint URL. Select which events to receive (call.started, call.ended, voicemail.created, etc.).
Control what each team member can see and do in SoundLine with role-based access control.
Admin: Full access. Manager: Can view analytics, listen to recordings, and manage agents. Agent: Can make/receive calls and view own stats only.
Create roles with granular permissions — e.g. "Supervisor" that can monitor live calls but cannot change billing settings.
Go to Team → Users → select a user → Edit → Role. Changes take effect immediately on next login.
Track how your phones are performing with live dashboards, then build custom reports across 50+ data points.
Go to Analytics → Overview for real-time call volume, answer rate, average handle time, and missed calls.
In Analytics → Reports → New Report, pick metrics and dimensions, then filter by team, number, or date range.
Email reports automatically to stakeholders on a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence, or export to CSV.
Supervisors can listen to live calls, whisper coaching tips to agents, or join the call when needed.
Go to Analytics → Live Monitor to see all active calls across your team with duration and status.
Click the ear icon next to an active call. You can hear both parties but neither can hear you.
Click Whisper to speak only to the agent. The customer cannot hear you — perfect for real-time coaching.
Click Barge to join as a three-way call when immediate intervention is needed. All parties can now hear each other.
Distribute incoming calls across your team with ring groups (ring multiple people) and queues (hold callers until an agent is free).
Go to Call Flows → Ring Groups → New Group. Choose All-at-once, In-order, or Round-robin ringing.
In Call Flows → Queues, set the distribution strategy, hold music, and add agents who can log in/out with *45.
If nobody answers or wait time exceeds a threshold, send callers to voicemail, a backup agent, or an external number.
Run every office from one account with per-location numbers, users, and routing — managed centrally.
Go to Settings → Locations → New Location. Set its address (for E911), business hours, and time zone.
Attach numbers, ring groups, and team members to each location, with routing scoped per site.
Filter analytics and reporting by location to compare performance across offices.
Every plan includes ticket-based support, and higher plans add live chat and phone support from our US-based team.
Go to Help → Submit a Ticket (or email support) and describe your issue. Track status and replies in Help → My Tickets.
On Growth and above, click the chat bubble to reach a real person during support hours — no bots.
Scale and Enterprise plans include phone support and priority response times.
Your monthly invoice breaks down subscription costs, per-minute usage, add-ons, and any prorated charges.
Your flat monthly rate per user (e.g. Starter $19.99/user/month × 5 users = $99.95). Billed on the same date each month.
International calls and any à la carte add-ons (e.g. call recording, advanced analytics) appear as separate line items.
Go to Settings → Billing → Invoice History. Click any invoice to download a PDF or email it to your accounting team.
Change your SoundLine plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the next billing cycle.
Click "Change Plan" to see all available tiers with feature comparisons.
Upgrades are prorated to the day. You'll see an exact charge preview before confirming.
